Year In Review

As we set our sights on 2024, we reflect on the past year with endless gratitude. Over the course of 2023, BRP Architects has welcomed four exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals, celebrated the addition of a new Partner, George Mandrik, and settled into our new office space. Through collaborative efforts with our clients and consultants, we’ve transformed visions into reality for their exciting projects. In addition, we have been honored with several achievements and awards for recently completed projects. Take a glimpse at what we’ve achieved.

Hilton North Scottsdale at Cavasson

Scottsdale, Arizona

The Hilton North Scottsdale at Cavasson, a new luxury hospitality destination in Scottsdale, Arizona, is an ideal location for both business and leisure travelers. The 237-room, state-of-the-art, full-service hotel is located at Cavasson, a multi-use development, just minutes from downtown Scottsdale and 20 miles from the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

One of the hotel’s standout features is its top-floor event space and terrace, which offers breathtaking views of the McDowell Mountains and the metro valley. The hotel also features guest rooms with modern amenities, a Southwest-inspired gastropub called the Desert Pony Tavern, a coffee shop, a fitness center, and a resort-style swimming pool. The hotel boasts a 15,000-square-foot event center, which is perfectly positioned to serve as the region’s premier venue for group meetings, corporate events and conferences, weddings, and social affairs of all sizes.

Design features at the hotel include high-performing glazing and exterior wall systems, energy-efficient mechanical and electrical systems, water-efficient native plantings, locally quarried stone, and regionally inspired artwork. These elements were all carefully selected to reflect the unique characteristics of the surrounding area and to create a seamless integration with the overall development.

PaPPo's Pizza Renovation at Lakeside Shoppes

Branson Landing North, Missouri

The newest location for PaPPo’s Pizzeria and Pub involved the renovation of an existing tenant space located on Branson Landing Boulevard in Branson, Missouri. The objective of the project was to transform the space into a modern pizza restaurant in an area highly focused on tourism. The design was purposefully crafted to create a warm and welcoming ambiance that reflects the PaPPo’s Pizza brand. To achieve the desired outcome, the project team worked closely with the team at PaPPo’s to ensure that the design and construction aligned with their vision and brand identity.  The newly renovated restaurant provides a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for customers to enjoy delicious pizzas, salads, unique eats, and an impressive selection of draft beer.

Academy of Exploration

Springfield, Missouri

The Academy of Exploration (AoE) is a beacon of STEM education within the Springfield Public Schools (SPS) Choice programming. Focused on project-based learning, AoE offers students the opportunity to explore science, technology, engineering, and math through a hands-on, immersive approach. Originally serving fifth graders, AoE has now expanded to include sixth graders and is set to welcome fourth graders next year. Located on the Hillcrest High School campus, AoE offers a unique methodology for education and learning.

BRP Architects' role in this project was to adaptively reuse the existing building, formerly known as the Fairview Elementary School. This historic structure originally opened in 1944, still retains its charming exterior. However, the interior has been completely transformed into an innovative, modern, and collaborative space tailored to the student’s unique learning pedagogy.

Faith Missionary Church - Phase 1

Springfield, Missouri

This project is a multi-purpose event center for Faith Missionary Church. It is phase 1 of a multi-phased development planned by the church. The approximately 10,000-square-foot facility utilizes a pre-manufactured metal building frame with a custom exterior and articulated design. The space is used for several functions including worship, gatherings, weddings, youth services, and more.

This Convention center offers top-notch facilities that are ideal for hosting a wide range of events, including conventions, meetings, and banquets. This collaboration ensures seamless coordination between accommodation and event facilities, making it a one-stop destination for all your convention needs.

Yellowstone Valley Event Barn

A well-equipped kitchen caters to all event needs, providing a seamless experience in one location. Inside the grand hall, attention is drawn to a striking dual focal point; a grand staircase on one end and custom iron doors adorned with stained glass reflecting native scenery on the other.

The Yellowstone Valley Event Barn boasts an outdoor patio and covered trellis that provide stunning views of the Yellowstone Valley. Five smaller meeting rooms seamlessly connect to the main hall, accommodating up to 240 guests in total. Mezzanines on either side of the hall offer an elevated view during special events along with private dressing rooms for the bride and groom. In addition, the grand staircase allows for an impressive entrance from the bride on her special day. Complementing the ambiance, a double-sided fireplace specially made from local river rock adds a unique touch to the grand hall’s atmosphere.

Our New Space

This year BRP Architects relocated to a new office space in the Historic Heers Building on Park Central Square, with the goal of providing an energetic, creative space for our employees while building on our commitment to our community.

The historic Heer’s Department Store, which has been described as the largest department store in all of Southwest Missouri, was the most prominent retail operation ever to operate on the Downtown Square in Springfield. It operated for nearly a century before closing in 1995 and remained vacant for two decades. In 2015, the historic building was adaptively renovated to become Heer’s Luxury Living, a mixed-use development that seamlessly combines luxury apartments and commercial space, all while preserving its architectural heritage and adapting to modern needs. This new address marks the beginning of an exciting chapter in BRP’s journey and history. The Heers Building promises a modern, inspiring space where creativity can flourish, and innovation can thrive.
