Current Projects
BRP Architects has had the privilege to work on a variety of local projects that are currently under construction in and around the Springfield, MO area. During the construction process, our architects have regular meetings and site visits to assure the project is built according to the drawings and specifications and is completed on time. We believe we have a reputation among Southwest Missouri contractors as being tough but fair, and responsive. We inspect our work regularly and document every visit and observation. We are committed to a quick turnaround to drawings and submittals to ensure a good flow of construction activities.
Below you will find an update on our current local projects under construction and when they are estimated to be complete.
Dining Center Infill, Holland House — Missouri State University
On this project, BRP served as the architect for the dining center infill for Missouri State’s new residence hall — Holland House. This new residence hall consists of a seven-story building with four stories of parking and three stories of living space. The dining center will be located on the ground floor.
Currently, the contractor is performing drywall finishing and grinding concrete floors in preparation for polishing, continuing MEP installation, and beginning final finishes in some areas such as installing tile and lay-in ceilings grids. They are also prepping for the installation of the kitchen exhaust hood system and food service equipment.
Estimated Completion: November 2020
Greenwood Multipurpose Addition
The Greenwood Multipurpose Addition is nearing completion and is scheduled to be done by this fall.
Exterior envelope construction and interior final finishes are nearing completion. Millwork is being installed at the concession stands. The installation of flooring in the restrooms is in progress and the installation of the exterior donor signage has been completed. Construction of the plaza area along Bear Boulevard is nearing completion. The site is being prepped for landscape work, which is scheduled to begin this week.
Estimated Completion: Mid-late September 2020
Grizzly Industrial Expansion and Showroom
Twenty years ago, we designed and built the 150,000 sq. ft. Grizzly Industrial showroom and warehouse when they relocated to Springfield from Memphis. Soon thereafter, we added a 300,000 sq. ft. distribution center across the street. From time to time, we have added call center space and reworked various areas in the showroom.
A few years ago we expanded their warehouse with a 50,000 sq. ft. addition. This year Grizzly is expanding their showroom into the warehouse space to provide more display space for their tools. Across the street, the distribution center is expanding by adding 64,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space, more docks, and loading areas.
Estimated Completion: Late Spring 2021
Homewood Suites by Hilton Hotel
Construction on Homewood Suites by Hilton was delayed by rain earlier this year, pushing the original completion to April 2021. The five-story hotel will have 122 rooms and 3,500 sq. ft. of meeting space. Other features of the hotel include an indoor pool, fitness center, and community spaces.
This five-story structure was fabricated using a cold-formed steel fabrication system built off-site inside and then erected on site which allowed the construction to make up lost time.
Estimated Completion: April 2021
Legacy Bank and Trust Headquarters
Legacy Bank and Trust’s new 40,000 sq. ft. headquarters is going skyward on 3250 East Sunshine Street. Construction on the project currently includes new corporate headquarters for Legacy Bank and Trust on the upper floors, a retail banking facility with drive-up banking on the ground floor, and the third floor is available for lease until Legacy needs it.
Estimated Completion: June 2021
Mission Ridge Senior Living
Coming South of Republic Road on Kansas Avenue is a new senior living community called Mission Ridge. The new facility will consist of: 47 Independent Living Units, 36 Assisted Living Units, and 24 Memory Care Beds. Currently they are working on the site (earthwork) and will begin the building foundation work in October.
Estimated Completion: 2021
SRC Heavy Duty Expansion
The SRC Heavy Duty Plant included a 166,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility that was stretched to its capacity with some functions forced off-site.
This 93,200 sq. ft. addition will allow them to bring the off-site operations back on site, reorganized their plant operations, and increase their productivity.
Estimated Completion: End of 2020
Warson Brands Distribution Center— Strafford, MO
The Warson Brands Distribution Center includes 166,000 sq. ft. designed to warehouse, distribute, and showcase the various styles of shoes and brands Warson Brands sells. The new facility will serve as the new distribution hub for the company.
Located directly across Highway 125 from the John Deere Reman Warehouse, the project is nearly enclosed and can be seen from Interstate 44.
Estimated Completion: December 2020
