On October 14, 2019, The Embassy Suites by Hilton Denton Convention Center was awarded the 2020 Southwest Showcase Most Exciting Meeting Destination Change award. This recognition is awarded to any organization, city, bureau, group or company responsible for notable development to a destination of interest to the event industry. The nominees were judged on the utility, scope, and value of the project that brought change to their area. Since the opening of the Embassy Suites Denton hotel, it has welcomed two of Denton’s largest universities and brought many people into the city of Denton for large conventions and conferences.
“According to the Nominator, Dana Lodge, the Director of Sales at the Denton Convention and Visitors Bureau, “The project has exceeded all expectations. Immediately, conventions, conferences, and meetings started booking the Embassy Suites by Hilton Denton Convention Center even before the ceremonial groundbreaking. Our community now has a first-class hotel and meeting space for all types of university business, associations, corporate and leisure travelers.”
This award is among many that the AAA Four Diamond property has received since its grand opening in January of 2018, including being ranked #1 of all Hilton Embassy Suites for the first two quarters of 2019 as well as being LEED Gold Certified for its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.
