Cambria Omaha receives LEED Silver
BRP Architects designed the Cambria Hotel in Downtown Omaha Nebraska in accordance with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards and is excited to officially announce the project has received LEED Silver Certification.
This 128-room upscale hotel has many sustainable design features throughout. The hotel has an efficient mechanical system that contributes multiple points on the LEED scorecard for optimizing energy performance. Low flow water fixtures, energy efficient lighting, construction waste management, and recycled materials were also contributing factors.
“O’Reilly Hospitality Management picked a perfect site for the Omaha Cambria Hotel project to pursue LEED certification. We were able to achieve 21 out of 26 sustainable site points. Water efficiency, highly efficient MEP systems, a high-performance building envelope, indoor air quality, and a multitude of green materials all contributed to the LEED Silver status. What I find impressive is how well the team blended all these LEED requirements into the architecture and building program. The LEED elements are a natural fit for the facility, rather than feeling forced simply to check something off a list.” – Gerri Kielhofner, Architect & Partner
Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and can provide a framework for your building to be designed to the highest level of sustainability.
